Bank of America Labels Greece Core Investment Market
Bank of America classified Greece as a heavily overweight market, signaling a shift from tactical allocation to core investment exposure for international portfolios.
Bank of America identified Greece as one of the most heavily overweight markets in the EEMEA region, indicating that international portfolios now view the country as a core investment exposure. This shift reflects a transition away from viewing Greek assets as mere tactical allocations.
Capital inflows remain strong, particularly within the banking sector. Active funds are showing high participation in the four systemic banks: National Bank of Greece, Eurobank, Piraeus Bank, and Alpha Bank. The financial institution suggested a potential upcoming rotation toward the energy and industry sectors, highlighting Metlen and Public Power Corporation as under-positioned stocks with positive ratings.
Thodoris Tzouros, Executive General Manager at Piraeus Bank, supported this positive outlook, stating that Greece has become a mature, stable, and attractive investment opportunity for the coming years.
