Singapore Airlines Named World's Best Airline by Skytrax

Aviation rating company Skytrax named Singapore Airlines the world's best airline on Friday during an announcement in London. This marks the sixth time the carrier has received the honor since 1999. Singapore Airlines also secured top rankings for World's Best Economy Class and Best Economy Class Onboard Catering.

Qatar Airways placed second overall, ceding the top position it previously held. Despite the drop in overall rank, Qatar Airways won the World's Best Business Class award for the 13th time and received the inaugural Best Onboard WiFi award. Cathay Pacific Airways ranked third and was recognized for having the World's Best Cabin Crew.

The rankings were based on a global passenger satisfaction survey conducted from September 2025 to August 2026, involving nearly 25 million travelers from over 100 nationalities. The survey evaluated more than 325 airlines on criteria including cleanliness and airport services. Asian carriers dominated the results; Air France-KLM was the only European airline to place in the top 10, while no United States airlines appeared in the top ten list. The shift in rankings comes as Middle Eastern carriers faced significant pressure due to the ongoing war in Iran.
