Timmins Municipal Candidates Campaign at South Porcupine Community Fair

Candidates for the 2026 municipal election in Timmins campaigned at the second annual Boats, Bikes, Mics and Lights community fair in South Porcupine on August 11, 2026. The event featured several contenders for mayor and city council, including incumbent Mayor Michelle Boileau and Ward 5 Councillor Steve Black, who is seeking a seat in Ward 1.

Mayoral candidate Rob Knox, a former OPP commander, used the event to highlight city growth and the negative effects of Highway 101 construction on local businesses. Fellow mayoral candidate Robert Boucher, an exotic pet store owner, is producing daily social media videos for his campaign while simultaneously seeking government funding for his legal defense following charges related to an incident with an intruder.

For the Ward 5 council seat, candidate Melanie Verreault, president of Trimedia Consulting Inc, is collecting community feedback through an online survey and organic interactions with residents to identify city-wide priorities.
