Sheriff Mulade Sues Nigeria Democratic Congress for N5 Billion
Sheriff Mulade filed a lawsuit against the Nigeria Democratic Congress seeking N5 billion in damages over alleged primary election irregularities.
Environmental activist and House of Representatives aspirant Sheriff Mulade filed a lawsuit against the Nigeria Democratic Congress seeking N5 billion in damages. Mulade alleges that the party discarded legitimate results from the primary election for the Warri Federal Constituency in favor of an unknown selection process.
Mulade contends the party may have selected candidates based on the highest bidder for nomination forms, a move he claims violated democratic procedures and undermined transparency. In his allegations, Mulade suggested that the party's National Leader, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, may have been influenced by resources from specific individuals disguised as donations.
The Nigeria Democratic Congress has not yet publicly responded to the lawsuit. Mulade's action follows his claim that the party, once viewed by some Nigerians as a potential savior for the nation, instead acted as a placeholder and gambled with the future of the electorate.
