South Carolina Sets Voter Registration Deadlines for November Elections

The South Carolina State Election Commission is urging eligible residents to register to vote or verify their registration details ahead of the November 3 Statewide General Election. Executive Director Conway Belangia stated that reviewing information early helps voters avoid potential issues during the process.

Registration deadlines are set for Sunday, October 4, 2026, for online and electronic applications. Residents may also register in person at county offices by that date or via mail, provided the application is postmarked by Monday, October 5. To encourage participation, the commission launched the Your Voice. Your Vote campaign, which shares personal stories from residents about their motivations for voting.

The general election includes a gubernatorial race between Republican Attorney General Alan Wilson and Democratic State Representative Jermaine Johnson. Voters will also participate in a special U.S. Senate election between Republican Senator Darline Graham and Democrat Dr. Annie Andrews. Additionally, the ballot will feature contests for all seven U.S. House seats, 124 state House districts, and several statewide constitutional offices.
