Texas Fuel Prices Rise Ahead of November 3 Election
Texas voters face significantly higher fuel prices as an Emerson College poll ranks the economy as the top issue ahead of the November 3 election.
Fuel prices in Texas have risen sharply compared to last year, creating economic pressure for voters ahead of the November 3 election. Data from AAA Texas shows the average price for regular gasoline is $3.71 per gallon, an increase of $1.11 over the previous year. Diesel fuel has seen a more dramatic rise, averaging $5.75 per gallon, which is $2.34 higher than last year's prices.
While these figures remain below the national averages of $4.26 for gasoline and $6.35 for diesel, the cost increases align with broader economic anxieties in the state. An Emerson College poll conducted from October 17 to 19 found that 39% of Texas voters identify the economy as their primary concern. Other top issues for the electorate include immigration, threats to democracy, education, and healthcare.
