Democratic-aligned social media influencers released near-identical videos accusing Elon Musk of attempting to buy the midterm elections using government contract funds.
Democratic-aligned social media influencers released a series of near-identical videos accusing Elon Musk of attempting to buy the midterm elections. The campaign uses matching phrasing and framing to claim that Musk's political spending is funded through government contracts, urging viewers to declare that the country is not for sale.
Critics, including commentator Katie Miller and the account Wall Street Apes, characterized the effort as paid propaganda funded by undisclosed dark-money groups. One creator involved in the distribution, Pullups Pasta Pasta Politics, is identified as part of the Senate Communications Committee Creators Program.
The coordinated messaging follows public FEC filings showing Musk has contributed between $276 million and $366 million to Republican efforts, including the Senate Leadership Fund. These contributions make him the largest individual donor in the current midterm cycle.
