TG Jones Closes 19 UK Stores Amid Restructuring

TG Jones is closing 19 stores across the United Kingdom throughout September as part of a broader restructuring plan. The closures, which include locations in Bath, Cambridge, and Swindon, follow a plan approved by the High Court in July to shut 150 of the retailer's approximately 450 stores. This downsizing could result in the loss of hundreds of jobs for the company's 4,700 employees.

The retailer rebranded from WH Smith last year after its acquisition by Modella. To facilitate the current wave of closures, the company has launched closing-down sales both online and in-store, offering discounts on books, LEGO sets, and stationery.
