Anthropic Launches Claude Enterprise Plugins and Private Marketplaces

Anthropic integrated Claude AI into workplace software via 10 new business plugins and private marketplaces, triggering initial market volatility before a recovery in partner software stocks.

Anthropic unveiled a suite of enterprise capabilities for its Claude AI on February 24, 2026, focusing on the Cowork platform and a new ecosystem of plugins. The update integrates Claude directly into workplace tools including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Slack, allowing the AI to carry context between applications, such as converting Excel data into PowerPoint presentations. The company launched 10 specialized plugins targeting investment banking, wealth management, human resources, private equity, engineering, and design, developed in collaboration with partners such as FactSet, LSEG, DocuSign, and Salesforce's Slack.

To support corporate governance, Anthropic introduced private plugin marketplaces, enabling organizations to build and distribute tailored AI agents internally using private GitHub repositories. This expansion follows the January 30 launch of Claude Cowork and the February 20 release of Claude Code Security. To sustain this development pace against rivals like OpenAI and Microsoft, Anthropic plans to increase its workforce to 2,000 employees by the end of 2025.

The announcement initially fueled market anxiety, contributing to a broader software sector sell-off as investors feared AI automation would erode traditional SaaS revenue. However, shares of partner companies like Salesforce and FactSet subsequently rose, marking a partial recovery from previous losses. While some analysts warned that integrating AI agents across core systems poses data leakage risks, Anthropic executives characterized the technology as a complementary platform designed to provide infrastructure and intelligence rather than replace human workflows.
