China Projects Bumper Crop During National Autumn Harvest
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs reports China is on track for a bumper grain harvest as farmers conduct nationwide autumn harvesting and sowing.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs announced that China is on track for a bumper grain harvest in 2026, attributing the projected success to steady progress in agricultural and rural modernization.
Harvesting activities began in early October across multiple provinces. In Henan, Zhejiang, Hubei, Shandong, Jiangsu, and Yunnan, farmers collected sorghum, corn, paddy rice, and soybeans. By October 10, operations expanded to include the harvesting of peanuts in Shandong and the use of smart sprinklers to water soil in Binzhou, Liaocheng, and Rongcheng.
Concurrent with the harvest, farmers in Henan Province deployed machinery across Jiyuan, Qinyang, Jiaozuo, Zhumadian, and Luoyang to prepare fields for wheat sowing. These combined efforts in harvesting and sowing are intended to ensure stable national grain production for the year.
