Ben-Gvir Posts Gallows Video as Israel Issues E1 Tenders

Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir posted a video on August 20 showing a gallows site intended for the hanging of Palestinians. This action coincided with the Israeli government issuing tenders for the E1 settlement near Jerusalem, a move that has intensified international condemnation.

UK Foreign Secretary Edward Miliband denounced the E1 settlement tenders as an "unacceptable and destructive act" and characterized all Israeli settlements in the West Bank as a "flagrant breach of international law." Despite these diplomatic rebukes, critics have argued that current international responses, including sanctions against specific individuals, remain ineffective.

These developments follow reports from a United Nations commission of inquiry alleging that Israel is committing ongoing genocide in Gaza and engaging in ethnic cleansing and war crimes in the West Bank. The commission also reported "ecocide" in southern Lebanon.
