Disney Announces Major Tomorrowland Redesign for 2030 Anniversary

During the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim, Jill Estorino, President of Disneyland Resort, announced a comprehensive reimagining of Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park. This project marks the first major overhaul of the land since 1998 and follows previous redesigns in 1967. Estorino acknowledged that the area had become stagnant and stated that the project's North Star is Walt Disney's original vision of a vista into wondrous worlds.

The redesign will introduce new attractions and open spaces focused on an optimistic future. Emo O’Brien, Portfolio Executive Creative Producer for the Disneyland Resort at Walt Disney Imagineering, noted that the team used Walt Disney's opening-day speech as inspiration to capture the core optimism of the original land. While specific concept art has not been released, Disney Experiences Chairman Thomas Mazloum linked the project to Disneyland's 75th anniversary in 2030.

The revamp is scheduled to debut after the expansion of Avengers Campus and the opening of a Coco attraction at Disney California Adventure, but before the launch of a new Avatar destination in the Hollywood Backlot.
