Nigerian Military Identifies 38 Senior ISWAP Leaders

The Nigerian military, through Operation HADIN KAI, has identified 38 senior commanders and operatives of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) operating in the Lake Chad Basin. The breakthrough followed offensive operations in the Mangari–Metele–Dogon Chukun axis of Borno State, specifically within the Abadam and Kukawa Local Government Areas.

Troops recovered technical devices, including a camcorder used for propaganda, during the offensive. Forensic exploitation of these materials allowed the military to map the group's command structure and locate hideouts. Among those identified is Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa, the Wali (Governor) of ISIS West Africa Province, who is described as the most wanted terrorist leader in the region.

The Nigerian Army has offered a total bounty of 60 million naira for information leading to key arrests. Sources provide conflicting details on the specific reward distribution: one report states 50 million naira is offered for Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa and 10 million naira for Muhammad Jidda, while another suggests the 50 million naira reward is for Ibn Muhammad, commander of the Amniyya Unit, and 10 million naira for Muhammad Jidda, commander of the Jaish Unit. Other high-ranking figures identified include Hamad Abu Hanifa, the Amirul-Fiya of ISWAP.

Military officials have urged the public to provide credible information through established security channels but warned citizens against attempting to make arrests themselves.
