Azerbaijan Links Peace Treaty to Armenian Constitutional Changes
Hikmet Hajiyev stated that Armenia must remove territorial claims against Azerbaijan and Turkey from its constitution to secure a final peace treaty.
Hikmet Hajiyev, assistant to the president of Azerbaijan, announced that Azerbaijan would see no obstacles to signing a final peace treaty once Armenia removes territorial claims against Azerbaijan and Turkey from its constitution. Speaking to Haber Global, Hajiyev noted that current signals indicate Armenia has begun the process of adopting a new constitution.
Hajiyev asserted that de facto peace already exists in the region. He also emphasized the fraternal relationship between Azerbaijan and Turkey, stating that both nations will continue to resolutely respond to any moves aimed against their interests.
