Pakistan and Belarus Expand Trade and Agricultural Cooperation

The Government of Pakistan and the Government of Belarus agreed to expand bilateral economic and trade cooperation during the ninth session of the Pakistan-Belarus Joint Ministerial Commission in Islamabad on August 12, 2026. The two nations established a signed protocol to serve as a roadmap for increasing investment across several sectors, including industry, energy, technology, defense, health, and the digital economy.

High-level discussions focused heavily on food security and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. Pakistan proposed the creation of a universal agricultural machinery testing center at the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council, a project that would rely on Belarusian financial and technical assistance.

Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan stated that the relationship between the two countries is based on mutual trust and shared interests. Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain emphasized the need to translate this cooperation into concrete commercial and institutional outcomes.
