MG JW Automobile Pakistan to Export Vehicles to Bangladesh

MG JW Automobile Pakistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Bangladesh's RANCON Group to export locally assembled vehicles to the Bangladeshi market. The agreement begins with the export of 100 All New MG HS Hybrid+ units in 2026, with plans to introduce the All New MG ZS model subsequently. Total exports are projected to reach between 5,000 and 5,800 vehicles by 2029, depending on market conditions.

This partnership shifts the company's business model from exporting completely built-up units from China to exporting knockdown kits from Pakistan, a move supported by shareholder SAIC Motor. This initiative represents Pakistan's first large-scale export of locally manufactured vehicles and aligns with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's goal of establishing the country as a regional manufacturing hub.

Haroon Akhtar Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, witnessed the signing and stated that the agreement would generate millions of dollars in foreign exchange. He noted that the deal supports a forthcoming comprehensive Auto Policy intended to increase localization and industrial competitiveness as part of a broader export-led growth strategy.
