Air India flight AI219 returned to New Delhi on September 19 after reporting a technical issue while en route to Kathmandu.
An Air India Airbus A320-214 passenger aircraft bound for Kathmandu returned to New Delhi on September 19 following a technical issue. The flight, AI219, departed New Delhi at 2:42 pm IST and was scheduled to land in the Nepali capital at 4:30 pm NPT.
The aircraft was diverted back to Delhi while in the airspace above Lucknow, just as it approached Nepali airspace. An official at Tribhuvan International Airport confirmed the diversion to news agency ANI.
Tribhuvan International Airport has not issued a formal statement regarding the incident. Specific details concerning the nature of the technical problem or the status of the passengers on board remain unconfirmed.
