JBS Appoints Wesley Batista Filho as Global CEO

JBS NV announced that Wesley Batista Filho will become the company's global chief executive officer starting in January. This appointment returns the Batista family to the top leadership position for the first time in approximately eight years. Batista Filho, the grandson of founder Jose Batista Sobrinho, previously spent three years leading the company's US division.

He replaces Gilberto Tomazoni, the first CEO from outside the family, who will transition to the role of vice chairman. Describing the change, Batista Filho stated, "It’s a natural transition, and we are carrying on the legacy."

The leadership shift follows a period of global expansion into the Middle East and Southeast Asia. The company also recently listed shares in the United States to attract investors in New York.
