Angie Craig Outspends Peggy Flanagan in Minnesota Senate Primary
Representative Angie Craig holds a massive financial lead over Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan ahead of Tuesday's Minnesota Democratic Senate primary.
Angie Craig maintains a significant financial advantage over Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan as the Minnesota Democratic Senate primary approaches this Tuesday. Data from AdImpact shows Craig has spent 19.9 million dollars on advertising, outspending Flanagan's 4.7 million dollars by more than four to one.
A large portion of Craig's funding originates from North Star Dawn PAC, which received roughly 10 million dollars from Civic Progress Fund Inc., a Delaware-incorporated nonprofit that does not disclose its donors. Flanagan has criticized Craig as the candidate of "dark money," though Flanagan has also received outside spending from a group affiliated with Democratic lieutenant governors.
Flanagan has further targeted Craig's past support from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. However, the lobbying group has not officially endorsed Craig or spent money in this specific primary race.
