Revolut Launches Euro-Pegged Stablecoin EURR for European Users
Revolut launched EURR, a euro-denominated stablecoin issued by Bridge Building S.A., to allow users to move fiat value onto blockchains without US dollar exposure.
Fintech company Revolut launched EURR, a stablecoin pegged one-to-one with the euro, on August 26, 2026. The token is issued by Bridge Building S.A., a Luxembourg-based entity owned by Bridge—a stablecoin infrastructure provider acquired by Stripe, Inc. in 2024. The launch ensures compliance with the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework.
Integrated into the Revolut retail app and Revolut X exchange, EURR allows users to move euro-denominated value onto the Ethereum and Polygon blockchains. This removes the need for users to incur US dollar exposure, a common requirement when using dollar-based assets like USDC. The rollout began with a select group of customers in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal, with plans to expand across the European Economic Area later this year. Early circulation data showed a small-scale start with 374 EURR in circulation at launch.
Revolut describes the token as a bridge between fiat and cryptocurrency and the first step in a strategy to introduce tokens pegged to other currencies. The move aligns with broader goals from European authorities to promote euro-denominated digital assets to challenge the dominance of the US dollar and maintain monetary sovereignty.
