Canadians Support Boycotting U.S. Goods Amid Tariff Dispute

A survey by Nanos Research commissioned by CTV News shows that 80 percent of Canadians believe boycotting U.S.-made goods or avoiding travel to the United States would strengthen Canada's bargaining position. This sentiment is a response to U.S. tariffs imposed on Canadian goods.
The poll, conducted from September 29 to October 1, 2025, found that support for such measures is highest among residents of Atlantic Canada at 87 percent and Canadians aged 55 and older at 85 percent. In contrast, only 18 percent of respondents believe that boycotts would be unhelpful.
The survey involved 1,052 Canadians and carries a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points.
