Aliko Dangote Pledges One-Third of Fortune to Foundation

Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Industries Limited, confirmed in an Arise News interview on Tuesday that he has signed a legal agreement to transfer one-third of his estimated $51.3 billion fortune to the Dangote Foundation upon his death. The funds are designated for philanthropic purposes to support people in need.

During the interview, Dangote addressed the topic of succession and family, stating that having a male heir is not a priority. He expressed confidence in his three daughters—Mariya, Halima, and Fatima—asserting that a son would not necessarily have performed better than they have.

Reflecting on his professional journey, Dangote advised young people to maintain consistency and focus. He clarified that his business began as a distributor operating four trucks rather than as an importer.
