Cheniere Energy Completes Corpus Christi LNG Stage 3 Expansion

Cheniere Energy completed a Stage 3 expansion at its Corpus Christi plant, increasing annual production capacity to approximately 56 million tons.

Cheniere Energy Inc. completed the Stage 3 expansion of its liquefied natural gas production plant in Corpus Christi, Texas. The project adds seven trains with a total capacity of 10 million tons per year, raising the company's overall annual output by more than 20% to approximately 56 million tons across its two facilities.

Construction on the Stage 3 expansion began in 2022, and the facility first began production in December 2024. The capacity increase comes as U.S. Gulf Coast production expands to address global supply shortages in Asia and Europe. These gaps were created by conflict in the Middle East, which has shuttered roughly one-fifth of global output.
