Hemant Soren Invites Job Aspirants for Dialogue Over Exam Fraud

Hundreds of students and job aspirants have protested in Ranchi since July 25, alleging that the April preliminary civil service examination results were manipulated. Protesters claim leaked answer sheets prove successful applicants passed despite answering fewer questions than required. The unrest led to the July 22 resignation of Jharkhand Public Service Commission Chairman L Khiangte and the postponement of the next exam stage.

Hemant Soren, the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, invited the aspirants for dialogue on Friday to discuss systemic reforms. While the state's Criminal Investigation Department is currently leading the probe and raiding commission offices, protesters remain on hunger strike at Jaipal Singh Stadium. They are demanding that the exam be scrapped and the investigation be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation for greater transparency.

JLKM MLA Jairam Mahato has intensified calls for a comprehensive probe, citing a specific candidate who ranked second in the JSSC CGL exam as evidence of integrity issues. In response to the Chief Minister's invitation, the JPSC JSSC Reform Manch has organized an 11-member delegation of students, lawyers, and technical experts to negotiate. To avoid the failure of previous closed-door meetings, the delegation is demanding that talks occur on an open platform with live media coverage.
