Serve Robotics Partners With Grubhub and DoorDash After Uber Split

Serve Robotics partnered with Grubhub and expanded its DoorDash collaboration following a fallout with former investor and partner Uber Technologies Inc.

Serve Robotics partnered with Grubhub and expanded its collaboration with DoorDash to include San Jose and Washington. These strategic moves follow a fallout with Uber Technologies Inc., which sold its stake in the company during the second quarter of 2026.

While a delivery contract with Uber remains active until early 2027, CEO Ali Kashani stated the company does not intend to renew the agreement. The split resulted from disagreements over fleet integration and a decline in delivery volumes, prompting Serve to lower its 2026 revenue guidance from $26 million to a range between $9 million and $10 million.

To offset these losses and support growth, the company is introducing micro depots in Miami to reduce operational costs and providing restaurants with free Beacon devices to streamline robot arrivals. Additionally, Serve is deploying Moxi 2.0 hospital robots at healthcare facilities in Los Angeles and Chicago.
