INEC Extends PVC Collection Deadline in Osun State

The Independent National Electoral Commission extended Permanent Voter Card collection in Osun State to July 31 to increase participation in the August 15 governorship election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission extended the deadline for Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection at Registration Area centres in Osun State to Friday, July 31, 2026. This decision follows a first phase of distribution from July 22 to July 28, during which voters reported overcrowding and logistical challenges at various centres.

During the initial phase, the commission reported that 322,822 cards, representing 62 percent of available PVCs, were collected. The extension is intended to boost voter turnout for the governorship election scheduled for August 15.

To accommodate this shift, the commission adjusted its official timetable. PVC collection will now transition to Local Government Area offices from August 1 to August 7, 2026.
