Nvidia May Delay RTX 6000 Series Until 2028

Nvidia Inc. may postpone the launch of its Rubin-based GeForce RTX 6000 series graphics cards until 2028, according to industry insiders and leakers. The release was previously predicted for late 2027, and a shift to 2028 would create a gap of 41 to 47 months between generations, far exceeding the company's standard two-year cycle.

Reports from leakers Kopite7kimi and Kepler_L2 attribute the delay to a global memory crisis and rising component costs. These pressures stem from the prioritization of AI demand over gaming hardware, a resource allocation shift that has also reportedly delayed the RTX 5000 Super series.

While some observers expect pricing to normalize by 2028, SK Hynix projects that DRAM shortages and price hikes could persist until 2030. Competitor AMD is also rumored to be targeting a 2028 release for its RDNA 5-based Radeon 10000 series. Nvidia has not officially confirmed a launch window for the RTX 60-series.
