A series of planned road closures and traffic restrictions took effect across Cambridgeshire on July 20, 2026, to accommodate essential utility and infrastructure upgrades. The disruptions involve a combination of full closures, partial restrictions during specific hours, and the deployment of temporary traffic signals.
Utility providers are conducting diverse operations across the region. Anglian Water is managing emergency repairs and works in Gorefield and Littleport, while Cambridge Water is performing installations on Herne Road in Ramsey St Marys. Cadent Gas is conducting works on Rampton Road in Willingham, and City Fibre is installing fiber optics in Wisbech and Thomolas Drove.
Infrastructure projects include bridge joint replacements on Bedstone Way in Peterborough. The duration of these closures varies by site; some operations, such as those on Hasse Road, are limited to a single night. However, the Stukeley Bypass remains closed in both directions until September 20.
