Renault Group Plans 10 Billion Euro Electric Vehicle Investment
Renault Group will invest over 10 billion euros in France over five years to expand electric vehicle production and lower car prices.
Renault Group plans to invest more than 10 billion euros in France over the next five years to expand electric vehicle production and develop more affordable models. Chief Executive François Provost announced the initiative on Saturday, stating that the investment is contingent on the social and political context.
This new funding follows a previous 13 billion euro investment over the last five years dedicated to transforming industrial operations for electric vehicles. The company produced 500,000 cars in France in 2025 and expects production to increase by at least 25% in 2026.
The expansion coincides with a surge in domestic demand, as electric vehicles reached a record 42% of new car registrations in France in September. This trend is driven by rising fuel prices linked to the war in Iran.
