Ukraine Deploys Remote Kalashnikov Turret to Robotize Front Lines

Ukraine has introduced a mobile ground turret featuring two Kalashnikov assault rifles mounted on a four-wheeled platform. Developed by a local manufacturer following a technical brief from the defense tech incubator Brave1, the system aims to provide cheap, scalable robotic support to reduce risks to infantry and address soldier shortages.

The Security Service of Ukraine's Alpha Group special forces recently utilized the vehicle in combat to destroy a Russian ambush drone. While the rifles are modified to accept remote fire commands, the current iteration still requires a soldier to manually rack the bolts and reload magazines.

More than five Ukrainian military units are currently conducting operational tests of the vehicle. This deployment is part of a broader strategic effort to robotize the front line by integrating unmanned ground vehicles into active combat zones.
