Family of Kargil Martyr Denounces Unfulfilled Government Promises

The family of Avnish Yadav, an Indian Army soldier martyred during the 1999 Kargil conflict, stated on the 27th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas that government promises remain unfulfilled. Avnish Yadav was killed on September 4, 1999, after neutralizing 20 Pakistani soldiers.

His parents, Somaro Devi and Shivji Yadav, claim authorities failed to install a statue of the soldier in their village or name a primary school or government hospital after him, despite previous assurances. While the Central government provided a petrol pump to the soldier's widow, Shivji Yadav alleged that promises to transform the village of Dalel Tola were ignored.

Shashi Mani Nath Mishra, the Bairia Sub-Divisional Magistrate, stated he is investigating the claims. He indicated that action would be taken to implement government assurances once the details are verified.
