Cornwall Residents Critique City Neglect and Childhood Phone Addiction
Cornwall residents used letters to the editor to criticize municipal neglect of the Le Village area and warn against childhood mobile phone addiction.
Residents of Cornwall shared diverging community concerns in letters to the editor published on July 18, 2026. Mark A. MacDonald praised a recent downtown Art Walk but accused the city council of overlooking the Le Village/Renaissance area. He specifically cited a lack of maintenance for interlocking brick sidewalks and a municipal plan to end winter snow clearing in that district.
In a separate appeal, Mohammad Talat Naeem called for government and parental intervention to combat childhood mobile phone addiction. He argued that excessive screen time impairs the mental development, concentration, and physical health of children.
