New York Officials Launch Election Protection Measures for November 3
New York Attorney General Letitia James and Erie County District Attorney Mike Keane launched voter protection initiatives as early voting begins across several U.S. states.
New York Attorney General Letitia James activated an election protection hotline to assist voters during the early voting period and the November 3 general election. The hotline, operated by the Office of the Attorney General, provides troubleshooting for voter registration, mail-in ballots, and in-person voting to ensure the process remains free from harassment and intimidation.
In Erie County, District Attorney Mike Keane designated a prosecutor from the special investigations and prosecutions bureau to serve as a liaison for law enforcement. This official will investigate reports of election fraud, voter intimidation, or other prohibited conduct at polling locations.
These state-level measures coincide with the start of early voting in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Nationally, more than 29 million Americans have already cast their ballots via mail or in-person early voting ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.
