AI Disruption Pressures India's Top IT Services Stocks

India's leading IT firms face revenue stagnation and pricing deflation as artificial intelligence disrupts traditional consulting business models.

Major Indian IT services firms are experiencing significant downward pressure in 2026 as artificial intelligence disrupts traditional consulting models. The sector is facing pricing deflation because AI makes routine tasks cheaper, leading to stalled USD revenue across several industry leaders.

Tata Consultancy Services reported FY2026 revenue falling to $28.60B, while Wipro saw its revenue slide to $9.92B and EBITDA drop to $1.83B. Infosys responded to these headwinds by lowering its FY27 guidance to a range of 1.5% to 3.0%.

Despite these losses, firms are pivoting toward AI-specific services to find new growth. Tata Consultancy Services reported annualized AI revenue of $3.1B. HCLTech has shown the most resilience in stock price and revenue forecasts among the major players, investing $151M in Sarvam AI and developing a new AI data center, even as it guides for 2% to 3% deflation in parts of its portfolio. Market anxiety persists over whether AI-driven revenue will provide net growth or simply replace losses from legacy services.
