Food Standards Agency Issues Multiple UK Food Recalls

The Food Standards Agency issued several food safety alerts and 'do not eat' warnings on August 7 for products sold across major UK supermarkets, including Tesco, Waitrose, and Home Bargains. The recalls stem from labeling errors that failed to declare allergens, posing risks to consumers with specific sensitivities.

ASR Solutions Ltd recalled Lay's Sour Cream & Dill Crisps sold at Home Bargains because they contain undeclared milk and wheat. Simultaneously, Bon Bons Wholesale Ltd recalled various heart and ladybird shaped chocolate products for undeclared milk and soy. Gü recalled its Double Sea Salted Caramel Frozen Dessert sold at Tesco and Waitrose due to the potential presence of undeclared hazelnuts and soya.

Retailers and manufacturers are advising affected customers to return the products to their point of purchase for a full refund. The agency emphasized the danger to those with allergies, while Gü noted that the issue with its frozen desserts is limited to a very small number of units.
