D3 Energy Spuds Second Gas Well in South Africa

D3 Energy Ltd began drilling its second well at the Nooitgedacht site in South Africa following a successful first gas flow.

D3 Energy Ltd spudded its second well, NGT245 D, on July 30 in the Nooitgedacht area of South Africa's Free State Province. The drilling operation is part of a two-hole program targeting helium and methane potential within the Ventersdorp and Witwatersrand formations. The second well, located within the company's 100%-owned ER315 permit, has reached a depth of 80 metres with an estimated budget of A$200,000.

This activity follows the completion of the first well, NGT245 E, which reached 363 metres and successfully flowed gas to the surface. The company confirmed that the first well intersected the targeted gas-bearing fracture zone as planned.

D3 Energy now plans to conduct production testing to assess deliverability. To further geological understanding of the region and expand its reserve base 40 kilometres north of the existing Production Right application area, the company will initiate a 2D seismic program in the coming weeks.
