Judge Blocks Trump Administration From Airing Taxpayer-Funded Ads
US District Judge Jennifer Rochon ordered the Trump administration to stop broadcasting three taxpayer-funded political advertisements ahead of the midterm elections.
US District Judge Jennifer Rochon issued an emergency order on Friday requiring the Trump administration to stop airing three taxpayer-funded political advertisements. The ruling expands a previous block on government-funded spots that laud the president before the upcoming midterm elections.
The blocked advertisements are titled "$5,000 to Americans," "Every Democrat Voted Against No Tax on Tips," and "Cost of Socialism." Judge Rochon prohibited the federal government from broadcasting these videos on television or publishing them on government websites and social media platforms, including Instagram and YouTube.
