Cyberattack Disrupts Boston Scientific Global Shipping and Operations

Boston Scientific announced on August 26, 2026, that a cybersecurity incident detected the previous day has disrupted its global operations. The attack limited access to business applications and information systems, specifically hindering the company's ability to process and ship customer orders.

The company is collaborating with third-party cybersecurity specialists to contain the threat and restore functions. Regarding the recovery process, the company stated, "While the company is working diligently to restore affected functions and systems access, the timeline for a full restoration is not yet known."

Following the disclosure, shares fell between 3.3% and 5.8% in premarket trading. While Boston Scientific has not determined if the breach will have a material financial impact, analysts from Piper Sandler and Evercore ISI suggest recovery could take up to three weeks, which may impact third-quarter revenue.
