Kong Xia Preserves Red Army Legacy in Zunyi

Kong Xia, the granddaughter of Long March veteran Kong Xianquan, has dedicated more than 30 years to preserving the revolutionary legacy of the Red Army in Zunyi, Guizhou Province. Her work builds upon the foundation laid by her grandfather, who was wounded during the 1935 battle of Loushan Pass and served as the first curator of the Zunyi Meeting Memorial Hall.

Following the death of Kong Xianquan in 1988, Kong Xia began volunteering as a guide at the memorial hall in 1993. She has since used archives and research to reconstruct her grandfather's wartime experiences and ensure the history of the 1935 Zunyi Meeting is passed to younger generations.

To expand the reach of this history, she launched revolutionary history classes in local schools and has delivered more than 1,200 lectures to over 50,000 people. Her efforts focus on maintaining the systematic records of the Red Army's march in Guizhou, which her grandfather first published in 1960.
