The Ukrainian Air Force neutralized 88 out of 108 Russian drones during an overnight attack on October 2. The operation involved a combination of aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups to intercept the incoming threats.

Russian forces launched a variety of aircraft, including 47 jet-powered Shahed drones and Gerbera and Parodiya-type decoys. These drones were deployed from Bryansk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, Hvardiiske in Crimea, and occupied territories within the Donetsk region.

Aerial weapons struck 11 locations, while debris from downed drones fell in five additional areas. As of 8 a.m. Kyiv time, the Ukrainian command reported that the attack was still ongoing with several drones remaining in the airspace.
