Gold Fields Earnings Jump 81% to $1.855 Billion
Gold Fields reported an 81% increase in half-year earnings and announced it will return $1.25 billion to shareholders following a surge in gold prices.
Gold Fields reported an 81% increase in headline earnings for the half year ended June 30, reaching $1.855 billion. The South African gold miner attributed the growth to a 51% jump in average gold prices and a 12% increase in attributable gold-equivalent production, which reached 1.267 million ounces.
These gains offset a 13% rise in all-in sustaining costs, which climbed to $1,893 an ounce. In response to the earnings surge, the company announced it will return an additional $500 million to shareholders over the year, bringing total full-year shareholder returns to $1.25 billion.
Gold Fields more than doubled its interim dividend to 1,625 South African cents a share. The company maintained its 2026 guidance, projecting gold-equivalent production at the upper end of its 2.4 million to 2.6 million ounce range.
