Tom Homan Says Ilhan Omar Could Face Denaturalization
Border Czar Tom Homan stated Congresswoman Ilhan Omar could be denaturalized and deported following a federal investigation into her citizenship process.
Border Czar Tom Homan stated that Democratic congresswoman Ilhan Omar could be denaturalized and deported if evidence proves she lied during her naturalization process. Homan noted that while the process is long and tedious, it has been done before.
The comments follow an October 12 raid on Omar's home by federal agents and the issuance of more than a dozen subpoenas to the congresswoman and her relatives. The federal government is investigating whether Omar or her family violated laws when obtaining her citizenship. The probe occurs weeks before the November midterm elections.
Omar, a naturalized citizen from Somalia, denies the accusations and claims the investigation is an attempt to weaponize federal law enforcement against a political rival. Her attorneys argue there is no legitimate basis for the probe and accuse the United States Department of Justice of attempting to influence the upcoming election.
