Indian business delegations from the CII and CCCI visited Colombo to explore investments in energy, healthcare, and IT during the Sri Lanka Economic and Investment Summit.
Two Indian business delegations from the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Cochin Chamber of Commerce and Industry visited Colombo on October 12–13, 2026. The groups participated in the Sri Lanka Economic and Investment Summit to identify opportunities in manufacturing, information technology, healthcare, and renewable energy.
During the visit, the delegations held meetings with high-level Sri Lankan officials, including Minister of Energy Anura Karunathilaka and Deputy Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Chathuranga Abeysinghe. These discussions focused on establishing investment pathways and trade prospects within the Sri Lankan economy.
To formalize regional cooperation, the Cochin Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. This agreement aims to strengthen trade and business ties specifically between Kerala and Sri Lanka. High Commissioner of India Santosh Jha also met with the delegations, urging Indian companies to establish deeper partnerships in the country.
