Iran Threatens UK as Legitimate Target Over US Base Access

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has declared the United Kingdom a "definite and legitimate target" if it continues to support United States military operations against Iran. This escalation follows the British government's decision to allow U.S. Air Force B-1 bombers to operate from RAF Fairford in England and the joint base at Diego Garcia. The UK government defended the move, stating the bases were granted for "specific and limited defensive purposes" to destroy Iranian missiles and launchers in accordance with collective self-defense.

IRGC spokesman Hossein Mohebbi accused Britain of placing its political and military will under that of the U.S., asserting that any nation providing territory, equipment, or airspace to the U.S. becomes a target. These warnings coincide with reports that U.S. special operations forces are preparing potential ground raids to seize enriched uranium from Iranian nuclear facilities, including Fordo and Isfahan.

Beyond the UK, General Mohebbi warned that Israeli attempts to provoke U.S. involvement would bring "calamity" to Israel. Meanwhile, the Iranian army cautioned that the regional war would expand if the U.S. restarts airstrikes. Amid these tensions, U.S. forces continue to board vessels in the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Oman to maintain a blockade of Iranian ports, while Iranian and Omani officials have met in Tehran to discuss the Strait of Hormuz.
