LIC India Net Profit Rises 23 Percent to Rs 13,492 Crore

Life Insurance Corporation of India reported a 23 percent increase in net profit for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026, with earnings reaching Rs 13,492 crore. This figure rises from the Rs 10,987 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

The growth was primarily driven by strong renewals and higher premium income from new policies. Total income for the quarter rose to Rs 2,37,848 crore, while net premium income increased to Rs 1,27,250 crore. The company also saw its Total Annual Premium Equivalent grow by 8.22 percent to Rs 13,692 crore.

Financial stability indicators showed improvement as the solvency ratio rose to 2.42 times from 2.17 times. Despite these positive financial results, the company's shares settled lower on the National Stock Exchange, closing at Rs 387.50 per share, a decrease of 1.4 percent.
