Enterprise Rent-A-Car Refunds Customer After Credit Card Error
Enterprise Rent-A-Car refunded a customer's travel expenses after erroneously refusing a First Direct Visa card at a French airport.
Enterprise Rent-A-Car refunded a customer's travel expenses and issued an apology after staff at Carcassonne airport in France refused to provide a hired vehicle. Branch employees claimed the company did not accept credit cards from online banks, specifically rejecting a Visa card issued by First Direct.
The refusal forced the customer to spend 440 euros on alternative transport for a group of 10 people. Following intervention by the Guardian's Consumer Champions, the company admitted that First Direct Visa cards are accepted and that staff had made an error.
Enterprise stated that the customer did not receive the high level of service and support the company aims to provide and expressed regret for the inconvenience caused.
