Amazon Market Value Surpasses $3 Trillion for First Time

Amazon.com Inc. became the fifth company in history to exceed a $3 trillion market valuation following a surge in cloud-computing revenue.

Amazon.com Inc. surpassed $3 trillion in market value on August 3, 2026, becoming the fifth company in history to reach this milestone. The valuation increase followed a share price rise of up to 5.3%, marking the company's largest one-day jump in more than 14 years.

The surge was driven by a broader rally after second-quarter earnings results revealed accelerating revenue for Amazon Web Services, the company's cloud-computing unit. This growth addressed prior investor concerns regarding the scale of artificial intelligence spending.

Amazon now joins Nvidia Corp., Alphabet Inc., Microsoft Corp., and Apple Inc. as the only companies to have achieved a $3 trillion valuation. This milestone comes approximately two years after the company reached a $2 trillion market capitalization in June 2024.
