Shriram Finance Limited reported a 59.79% increase in Q1 consolidated net profit to ₹3,452.77 crore following a major equity investment from MUFG Bank, Ltd.
Shriram Finance Limited reported a 59.79% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to ₹3,452.77 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026. The growth was supported by a 33.67% rise in net interest income to ₹8,055.70 crore and a 15.26% increase in Assets under Management, which totaled ₹3.14 trillion.
Financial gains were driven by strong performance in gold loans, passenger vehicles, and commercial vehicles, though construction equipment assets declined by 25%. Gross stage 3 assets rose slightly to 4.64%. The company board also approved a resource mobilisation plan to issue debt securities between August and October 2026.
During the quarter, Japan's MUFG Bank, Ltd. completed the acquisition of a 20% equity stake in the company for approximately ₹39,618 crore. This transaction represents the largest cross-border investment in India's financial services sector and has contributed to lower funding costs and expanded lending margins.
