AI Company Insiders Sell $13 Billion in Shares
Insiders at Nvidia, Palantir, Broadcom, and Micron sold nearly $13 billion in shares since June 2023 amid concerns over unsustainable AI valuations.
Insiders at four prominent artificial intelligence firms have sold nearly $13 billion in company shares since early June 2023. Regulatory Form 4 filings reveal that Palantir Technologies insiders led the selling with $6.04 billion, followed by Nvidia at $5.02 billion, Broadcom Inc. at $1.5 billion, and Micron Technology at $365.8 million.
This selling activity follows massive stock rallies since the start of 2023, with gains reaching 650% for Broadcom and 2,110% for Palantir. While some executives may be selling to cover tax liabilities, data indicates minimal insider buying over the same three-year period, with total purchases representing only a small fraction of the total sales.
The trend coincides with growing concerns regarding unsustainable valuations, specifically Palantir's price-to-sales ratio. The volume of sales reflects historical patterns where early-stage technological bubbles eventually burst.
