Apple Hits 10 Billion Dollar Sales Milestone in India

Apple Inc. exceeded 10 billion dollars in annual sales in India despite projections of its first annual decline in iPhone shipments.

Apple Inc. exceeded 10 billion dollars in annual sales in India for the first time during the fiscal year ending in March, growing from approximately 9 billion dollars the previous year. This revenue surge was driven by strong demand for iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks, alongside an expanded retail footprint that now includes six official stores, including a new location in Mumbai opened in February.

Despite the record revenue, market researchers from the International Data Corporation and Counterpoint Research project the company will see its first annual decline in iPhone shipments in India. This slowdown is attributed to supply constraints for the iPhone 15, 16, and 17 series, a delayed launch cycle for the iPhone 18, and a reduction in consumer financing schemes that increased effective costs.

To offset iPhone moderation, Apple is expanding its broader ecosystem, reporting record performance for the Mac business in India led by the MacBook Neo and MacBook Pro. The company has also shifted its manufacturing strategy toward the region; five Indian factories now produce one in every four iPhones as Apple seeks new growth markets amid geopolitical tensions between the United States and China.
